FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What kind of accommodations can I expect?

Our camps blend rugged locations with surprising comfort. Think: wall tents with real beds, wood stoves, hot showers, and chef-prepared meals. These are curated backcountry retreats, not survival trips.

2. Do I need horseback experience?

Not at all. Our horses are well-trained and hand-selected for calm, sure-footed performance. Beginners are welcome, and our wranglers will help you feel confident in the saddle.

3. What’s included in the price?

All meals, lodging, horses, guides, gear transport, and camp support are included. Add-ons like fly fishing kits or premium gear packages are available during checkout. Packing lists and weather information will be provided after booking to ensure you are prepared and comfortable on your trip. We have partnered with gear providers and can help you purchase any needed equipment or clothing prior to departure.

4. How difficult are these trips physically?

Each trip is designed to be both accessible and rewarding. You should be in decent health and comfortable being outdoors for long days, but our team tailors the pace to the group. If you can hike a few miles or spend a day on horseback, you’re ready.

5. Are these trips private or group-based?

We offer both. Some experiences are open for individuals or small groups to join, while others can be booked exclusively for families, leadership teams, or custom retreats.

6. Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. Our chefs are experienced in handling dietary needs including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and more. Just let us know during checkout.

7. What should I pack?

A full gear list is provided upon booking. You’ll need weather-appropriate clothing, personal items, and any specialty gear not included in an add-on package. Most essentials are provided.

8. Is travel to the trailhead included?

Guests are responsible for their travel to the designated trailhead or pickup location. We’ll provide detailed instructions and can help coordinate transportation if needed.

9. What’s your cancellation policy?

Due to limited availability, we require a 50% deposit to reserve. Cancellations made more than 60 days in advance are eligible for a partial refund or transfer. See full policy at checkout.

10. Can I bring my own gear?

Absolutely. You're welcome to bring your own gear, rod, rifle, boots, or tent gear if you'd prefer. Just note this in your pre-trip questionnaire. You'll be expected to bring your own sleeping bag, personal items, clothing, etc. We provide tents, cots, food, and specialized equipment - depending on the trip.
